Roldanillo is the main site for paragliding and Ala Delta events in Colombia. Located on the western side of the Cauca Valley, at the foot of the Western Cordillera, the city is at an altitude of 966 meters and has an average annual temperature of 23 ° C.

The flight conditions are generally ideal throughout the year and only a few days are rain that can cancel the day of flight. The Cauca Valley expands from Roldanillo 70 km to the north and 170 km to the south. The width of the valley varies from 8 to 40 kilometers. The entire valley is almost flat and 90% of the plantations are sugarcane. The main roads stretch along the east and west sides of the valley, connected by back roads.

In the humid tropical climate, thermals are soft and large, when there are dry periods of long duration, the flight conditions can become stronger and turbulent.
